Set in a lakeside Kenyan village, Wekesa and Auma both discover an abandoned canoe and clash over ownership, splitting their community into factions. The deeper test is not who gets the boat: it is whether two determined twelve-year-olds can learn to share the captain's seat. A warm, sharply observed story about partnership and self-restraint, perfect for readers navigating friendship, fairness, and shared responsibility.
Two Sets of Oars
Two twelve-year-olds. One abandoned canoe. The real fight isn't who owns it. It's who gets to be captain.
